From the files: Goose carcass at Aylesford

This goose carcass was found at Aylesford. A dog-walker observed a large, black cat, bigger than his own Labrador dog, stalking geese. Upon returning to the spot the witnes found the eaten remain of the goose. Only the wings remained. The rest of the carcass has been licked clean.

Mr Russell, when the witness first observed the cat he had no camera. When he returned to the spot he found the goose carcass. Please read the post clearly.

As for the fox carcass, this area is currently under investigation and location is not being revealed. Thirdly, no further sightings have been received from Frittenden.

MR ARNOLD thankyou for your reply. it seems to me that you are under the impression that i am knocking the man, please be assured that i am NOT saying i dis believe the man, i am merely asking a question. and the only reason i ask about the fox carcass is because of all the sightings that have been seen around the medway IT IS QUITE WORRYING and also intriging to know if this or these cats are actually around the area where there are dog walkers and also lots of small children around. thankyou for your feed back. mr russell

Mr Russell, there really isn't anything to worry about but naturally there is a local dread because these are wild animals. The fox kills were along the line of the river stretching from Cuxton to halling.

thankyou mr arnold, can i ask if there is anything being done yet?? as in trying to catch these cats.not too kill them but too trap them somehow, as we all are aware that these are wild animals and it is there instinct too hunt or attack if feel threatened. if by some chance thy come into close contact with a human who knows what can happen.it really is about time someone actually pulls there finger out and does something about this before there is a tragedy.

Hi again. I'm not sure what you want "done". The issue here, like most things is money. All the while such animals are proving no threat then why would the government etc, pay out huge sums of money - for one it would be considered a waste of resources.

Nature is nature - in the United States the cougar attacks people, but this does not immediately mean we should kill the animal. Although leopards and puma aren't meant to reside in the UK, they clearly do, but if there's no official word on such animals then there will be no plans in place to remove them. Also, if an animal is hunted, it would make the situation worse. Maybe someone will be attacked, maybe someone won't - the biggest concern is that humanity, especially in the UK, has trouble getting used to foxes and rats, so as soon as we get a big predator we panic.

what i would like too see be done is these cats to be caught, i think i remember something i read on a site saying from yourself that is just a matter of time before someone gets attacked. yes your right these cats should NOT be here. and we can only speculate on how these animals got into the uk. i.e ppl letting these things loose as young cats obvoiusly couldnt cope with the demands that these big cats need. as for waste of money to catch these cats i wouldnt exactly say its a waste of money, i appreciate its exspensive and its not easy and there would be alot of red tape blah blah etc etc. buts lets be honest its a matter of time before someone gets attacked. after all these are wild animals it is in there instinct too attack, maybe thay havent attacked anybody as yet but you can never say never just my opinon. what would it take??? by the sounds of things someone to get attacked mauled or even killed before the goverment actually do something. and as you said its under investigation so are thay actually putting out cameras sitting in tents all night looking out for a big cat???

There is no plan to trap/exterminate these animals, because officially they do not exist. Who is going to trap one of these animals ? And do you realise how difficult this would be ? The police have already been ridiculed for wasting their resources after the recent 'toy white tiger' sham.

In the past there have been at least four cases where someone has repotedly been attacked by an exotic cat - in every instance this has been the fault of the person for approaching/cornering the animal.

No-one has ever been hunted down by a large cat in the UK, and yes, it may happen, but because it hasn't, it WOULD be a waste of money trying to track down such animals, because that means someone will have to own up that they 'officially' exist. The UK isn't the only country with this issue, the United States and Australia have out-of-place cats too.

There is no one from the government etc, sitting out all night, because it is a waste of time. In the past police and marksmen have been called out to Surrey, Kent, Scotland, Wales etc, to follow up sightings, but again, they haven't the time or the resources to sit out for longer than a few hours, and if they shoot one cat dead, what good will it do?

Finally, there is no speculation as to how these cats go into the country - it's a fact that what we are seeing are offspring of animals released, there is NO other option. My upcoming Mystery Animals Of...London proves that many people kept cats in the '60s, and sightings date back to vefore that too.

firstly i DONT WANT TO SEE THESE CATS KILLED, 2 WE ARE NOT IN THE STATES OR AUSTRALIA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY WE ARE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, 3 THERE HAS BEEN MANY CREDIBLE SIGHTINGS OF THESE CATS. 4 I ACTUALLY SAID IF SOMEONE WA TO INADVERTADLY BUMP INTO ONE OF THESE CATS BY ACCIDENT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN??? 5 POLICE REALLY COULDNT GIVE A MONKEYS ABOUT THESE THINGS THAY HAVE MORE PRESSING ISSUES LIKE CATCHING ALL THE NAUGHTY BOYS AND GIRLS OUT THERE OR PICKING ON MOTORISTS. 6 YES I DO UNDERSTAND ITS NOT EASY TO CATCH ONE OF THESE CATS, AND I DO MEAN TRAP {NOT KILL} 7 THE REASON I ASKED YOU WHAT WAS HAPPENING IS BECAUSE YOU SAID IT WAS UNDER INVESTAGATION, SO HOW EXACTLY IS IT BEING INVESTIGATED??? 8 IF IT DID STALK A HUMAN BEING WOT PRICE CAN ANYONE PUT ON A LIFE??? 9 I MUST STRESS I DO NOT WANT TOO SEE THESE CATS KILLED OR HARMED IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM. THANKYOU FOR YOUR REPLY MR ARNOLD.

so what i would like too know mr arnold. how exactly is this being investigated please????

No-one of any authority is going to attempt to trap a 'big cat' in the wilds of the UK. Sightings and evidence can be collated, but it's not down to me to trap one.

There are no official investigations being carried out for a prolonged time by authorities, because a) they probably don't think these animals exist, and b) time and money.

so there is no investagation on the fox carcass at all then??? and of course it isnt down too you obviously you havent got the resources too be trapping one of these cats. lets keep our fingers crossed no1 does get attacked by one of these cats or mauled.
